Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black has waged a bizarre war of words against Woolworths after allegedly being accused of shoplifting on the Gold Coast.
Black, who wrote the screenplay for Gus Van Sant's Harvey Milk biopic Milk, is in town to support his husband, British Olympic diver Tom Daley, who is competing in the Commonwealth Games.
Taking to social media to name-and-shame the supermarket giant, Black claimed that security guards chased him down and called him a "thief".
While some were sympathetic to his situation, others pointed out that bag searches were relatively normal in popular Australian stores and that security guards may have simply been doing their jobs.
Nevertheless, Black persisted, tagging Australia (as in, the entire country) and warning other tourists to beware of Woolworth's unfriendly treatment of tourists.
Black's husband Daley was said to be "devastated" after withdrawing from the 10 metre individual platform event yesterday due to injury, but will still compete in the 10 metre synchronised diving event.
However, the couple's time down under may be set to turn around in the coming days, as they got pooped on by a koala, a KNOWN SIGN OF GOOD FORTUNE.
All the best to the couple in their remaining days down under!
