The newlyweds received congratulations from Arnold Schwarzenegger, who celebrated with the couple in Australia.

One of the world's strongest men, openly gay Rob Kearney, has married his longtime partner, Joey Aleixo, in a quiet ceremony on Australia's Half Moon Bay beach.

The pair took to social media to share their news.

"So we did a thing. We didn’t tell many people, but on March 17, 2019 @worlds_gayest_strongman and I got MARRIED!!" Kearney, who came out five years ago, wrote on Instagram.

"To call this man my husband is a dream come true and he is and always will be my soulmate. I am so excited to start this new journey as a married couple and my heart has never been so full of love."

Aleixo added: "March 17th, 2019 is a day that i will never forget. Today is the day that I OFFICIALLY MARRIED MY BEST-FRIEND! You will always have my heart and I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for us."
Having won this year's Arnold Pro Strongman competition in Melbourne, it's perhaps unsurprising that Arnold Schwarzenegger was one of the first public figures to congratulate the newlyweds - even showing up to celebrate following the nuptials.
"I think this is a first: winning the Strongman and getting married in the same weekend," Schwarzenegger tweeted.

"Congratulations guys. I was honoured to celebrate with you."
