A group of spectators sitting in the upper deck of LA's Dodger Stadium have grabbed the attention of World Series viewers across the United States, unfurling a giant banner which read 'trans people deserve to live'.

The statement, which was well-documented by baseball fans across social media, was made during the World Series Game 5 match between the Red Sox and the Dodgers Sunday evening US time.

According to SBNATION, the flag was organised by the TransLatin@ Coalition, an organisation that, according to its website, “advocate[s] for the specific needs of the Trans Latin@ community that reside in the U.S.A." while also planning "strategies that improve our quality of life.”

The banner was reportedly removed a short time later, with some Twitter users claiming to witness police officers intervening.

The peaceful protest was likely in response to recent news that President Donald Trump's administration is considering restricting the definition of gender to "either male or female, unchangeable, and determined by the genitals that a person is born with.”
