There’s now an official Hallmark card to show your support for someone who is going through the process of transitioning.
The ‘Butterfly Transition Encouragement Card’ was spotted in a Massachusetts pharmacy by Renata Sancken who uploaded a photo to Twitter writing: “I've never seen Hallmark cards for gender transitioning before! Capitalism triumphs over hate??”
The card even had its own designated area under the heading ‘Encouragement: Transgender/Transitioning'.
For anyone who had doubts about the authenticity of the greeting card—Hallmark tweeted in response to Sancken: “Love always wins”.
The card can be found on Hallmark’s US website where the product description reads: “Offer your support and encouragement for the person your friend or loved one has become”.
Hallmark now has over a hundred LGBT+ greeting cards for same-sex weddings, anniversaries and Mother's/Father’s Day—leading the way for other major retailers to release more inclusive cards.
This year, UK supermarket chain Sainsbury's unveiled its first Mother's Day card for same-sex parents.
