Businesses, people and some very good doggos all wore purple today.

A celebration of diversity, Wear it Purple Day rolls around each year to raise awareness for LGBTIQ+ young people living in Australia, with supporters all across the country wearing purple clothing, wigs or makeup to show their support.

The inclusive nationwide initiative - which began in 2010 as a small-scale social media campaign - provides an opportunity for Australians to show solidarity with LGBTIQ+ young people at their school, university or workplace—and the day is only getting bigger.

Here are some of our favourite moments from this year's events.

The Police got onboard, sharing their support.

As did Home & Away's Lyn McGranger, who shared a selfie.

Stand Up Events in Melbourne went all out.

The lovely staff at ACON took to Hyde Park.

Little ones wore it purple...

And furry friends did too.

The food was on point.

Not to mention the fab makeup!

But most important was the strong sense of community.
