Late last year it was reported that actors Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan had been cast to play lovers on screen in the upcoming film Ammonite, which depicts the true story of paleontologist and fossil collector Mary Anning, who was born in 1799.

According to Deadline, the film will be set in the 1840s and follows the unlikely love story between Anning and a woman she meets in London, to be played by Ronan.

Now eagle-eyed social media users have shared a sneak peak of the film, tweeting photographs and footage of the pair as they work onset.
The movie is being shot in the town of Lyme Regis in West Dorset, England - with locals surrounding production locations to catch a glimpse of the two actors.

Ammonite is being produced by Iain Canning and Emile Sherman (Widows and Lion) and directed by Francis Lee, who recently received acclaim for his movie God’s Own Country.
