The suggestive catchphrase 'Netflix and chill' has acquired a whole new meaning with new research suggesting the online streaming site is the new mood killer.
According to the Wall Street Journal, couples are switching off sex to watch Netflix, with one in four people surveyed saying they preferred binge watching over 'chilling'.
The paper interviewed over 1000 people between 18 and 36, with 36 per cent of respondents saying they had chosen streaming video over sex in the previous six months.
The streaming giant chimed in to joke they couldn't be held responsible for the decline in fertility.
“We take pride in being part of the cultural zeitgeist, but getting credit for a decades long decline in sex is beyond even our programming abilities."
Other internet users happily embraced the #Netflixandzzz hashtag.
