Late last year, one half of Australian pop duo The Veronicas got hitched - now the other is following suit, with news that Jess Origliasso has become engaged to partner Kai Carlton.

Carlton, an LA-based musician who came out as trans earlier this year, popped the question on the couples one year anniversary.

The pair took to social media to share the happy news, with Origliasso saying that she'd been crying "happy tears" for hours.
"Happy 1 year & THE REST OF MY LIFE with you," the star, who was active in the campaign for same-sex marriage in Australia, wrote in a caption, showing off a large engagement ring.

She added: "I’ve been happy crying for 2 hours. I’ve never felt so full."

On his Instagram account, Carlton thanked the Aussie singer for being in his life.

"She said 'yes' and I’m the happiest mf alive," he wrote.

"Here’s to a lifetime of love and memories. Thanks for being in my life."

Speaking about their relationship, Carlton previously stated: “I love and respect Jess for who she is, she loves and respects me for who I am. We’re just lucky.”

Congratulations to the happy couple!
