Either there's a glitch in the Hollywood system, or we're about to get a pretty queer action blockbuster.
It was announced this week that two-time Tony nominee and star of Mindhunter star Jonathan Groff will be joining the cast for The Matrix 4. Not only that, but How I Met Your Mother actor Neil Patrick Harris has also been thrown into the mix.
With trans director Lana Wachowski at the helm and at least two LGBTIQ+ actors in leading roles, the fourth installment of 1999 classic is starting to sound pretty camp - and we're here for it.
The reboot, due for release in May of 2021, is also managing to honour much of its original cast, with Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss both returning to reprise their roles as Neo and Trinity - though there's no word yet on whether Australian actor Hugo Weaving will be back as Agent Smith.
Other new cast-members include Aquaman villain Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who Collider reports will play a lead role.
While Groff's role is being kept under wraps for now, it's rumoured that Patrick Harris will be playing a villain - which isn't too hard to imagine given his creepy stint in Gone Girl.
Directing duties aside, Wachowski is also co-writing the film's script with Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell.
