Former American Idol star Kelly Clarkson is being praised as a body-positive hero after she brilliantly hit back at a Twitter troll who criticised her weight.
The United States celebrated Independence Day this week and the singer took to social media to thank the Americans who have fought for their country.
While her patriotic tweets attracted hundreds of positive comments like these ones:
One Twitter user thought it was the perfect opportunity to make a completely unrelated comment about Clarkson's body, writing: "You're fat" under her post.
Without missing a beat, Clarkson tweeted back just four words and a single emoji to the Twitter troll: "...and still fucking awesome".

Clarkson's retort has already received over 25,000 likes on the social media platform and is being praised for her excellent response to the bullying.
The singer is no stranger to dealing with negative comments about her weight. In 2015, she opened up to Ellen DeGeneres after British reality star Katie Hopkins body-shamed her on Twitter.
"Yeah, I was the biggest girl on [American Idol] too. And I wasn't big, but people would call me big because I was the biggest one on Idol, and I've kind of always gotten that. … It's like, you're just who you are. We are who we are. Whatever size, and it doesn't mean that we're gonna be that forever."
"That's the thing. Sometimes we're more fit. Like especially me, I'm such a creative person that I yo-yo," she continued.
"So, sometimes I'm more fit and I get into kickboxing hardcore. And then sometimes I don't, and I'm like, … I'd rather have wine."
