Singer and TV host Lance Bass has shared some of the challenges he and husband Michael Turchin have faced on the road to starting a family.

"The most surprising part about the surrogacy process was how long this takes," the former NSYNC member told Page Six.

"We had several friends going through this and it took a little while but I think we’ve broken the record for how many donors we’ve gone through."

Bass continued: "We’re on donor number six right now and we don’t even know if that one’s gonna work. So, it has been a lot longer than I thought.

"But, hey, here’s to a 2019 baby!"

Bass and Turchin, who married in 2014, have been open about their surrogacy journey since 2016. Last year the pair described the process as the "Tinder of eggs".
