Beata Kozidrak—one of Poland’s most well-known singers—received a torrent of abuse recently for sharing a video of two of her gay fans.

Jakub and David uploaded the clip that features them being an adorable couple, singing along to a song of hers in a series of different locations in Poland.

The clip went viral on Youtube and attracted some pretty vile comments aimed, not just at the couple, but also at Beata for sharing the video.

The not so creative insults included someone saying Beata “should buy a hammer and hit herself in a head” and “that pig should be burnt on a stake”.

Other hateful remarks left said “homosexuality should be cured and not promoted” as some ‘fans’ vowed to boycott the singer.

Jakub and David said of the comments they received: “It’s not just homophobia, its homo-aggression.”

Poland is known for being one of the most homophobic countries in Europe, with the President recently declaring that same-sex marriage would never be legalised.

But the Polish LGBT+ community has rallied around Beata, thanking her for her support on social media using the hashtag, #Beata dziekujemy which means, 'Beata thank you'.
