A lesbian couple who exchanged their vows in the Garden section of their local Walmart have clapped back at online critics, insisting it wasn't because they're "cheap".
Instead, Chrissy Slonaker Torres and Leida Torres, who live in the U.S. State of Pennsylvania, claim they chose the wedding venue because it was where they first met. The pair were working at the same store when they crossed paths, began flirting, and soon fell in love.
"I found my soulmate, finally," Leida told the York Daily Record. "She’s the love of my life."
"We both have a lot of really close friends that we call family in our Walmart store," she explained.
"We discussed it with the store manager and the home office so that everybody in our store – everybody that we share our lives with – can be a part of the wedding."

Photos of the unique wedding soon went viral on social media, but despite an overwhelming amount of support from strangers, some have insisted on trying to rain on their parade.
"You shouldn’t judge something by the way it looks because there could be a beautiful story behind it," Chrissy said in an interview with Philly Voice.
She continued: "We met in Walmart, we fell in love at Walmart. We could’ve gotten married any other place, but we chose to get married at Walmart."
"Yes, we’re both women, but love is love and there’s no right or wrong to it. Don’t judge books by their covers. When it comes to love and unconditional love, what Leida and I have is unconditional.”
The happy couple have now turned their sights to a honeymoon in Atlantic City.
