A pair of new mums appear to have won the internet, adjusting their 'No Boys Allowed' bunting to read 'Son Boy Allowed' after bringing home their newborn son.

A before-and-after photograph of the young family's home decor was shared on social media by a friend, with Jini Maxwell tweeting: "A lesbian couple I know just had a son + redecorated accordingly."

With over 14,000 retweets, the image has been labelled a stroke of interior design genius by some, and slammed as unfunny and inappropriate by others.

"THAT'S SO CUTE IM LITERALLY CRYING," one user wrote.

“Two mums = twice the silly dad jokes, somehow,” tweeted another.

We send our congratulations to the new family!
