Wrestlers Kiera Hogan and Diamante have made WOW Women of Wrestling history, becoming the first queer couple to take out the Tag Team championships.

A reported by Out Sports, the pair, who wrestle under the names Fire and Adrenaline, emerged victorious during last weekend's WOW two-part season finale - six months after Hogan came out as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community and the couple went public with their relationship.

According to Out Sports, despite the team's status as emerging fan-favourites, their win is considered by many as an upset, with competing team The Monsters of Madness, also known as Havok and Hazard, dominating the 2020 WOW season.

Still, the literal power-couple celebrated their win on social media, sharing photos from the match alongside the caption: "YOUR NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS!!!"
Opening up about their relationship earlier this year, Hogan posted on social media: “When I’m with you, I act different. In a good way."

The loved-up athlete added: “I smile more and I laugh more. I don’t have to pretend everything is ok when it’s really not. With you, I can drop the fake smile and put on a real one.”

Fans of WOW Women of Wrestling will now await news of the league's season three premiere date, screened on AXS TV in the US.
