RuPaul's Drag Race season 6 contestant Adore Delano is reportedly suing talent management company Producers Entertainment Group (PEG) for embezzlement.
Delano, whose real name is Danny Noreiga, says that as her drag persona, she earned USD $2.5 million since 2014 from her two studio albums 'Til Death Do Us Party' and 'After Party', as well as multiple concerts and tours.
However, the performer alleges that she was only paid USD $300,000 by PEG, who manages a large number of former contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race.
According to a report from TMZ, Delano says she has “multiple examples” of PEG “nickel-and-diming” her out of her income, and also claims that the agency would sometimes take 70 per cent of earnings from her appearance and performance feeds (agency fees normally sit around the 20-30 per cent mark).
The lawsuit also alleges that the company threatened to "destroy her career" when she questioned her finances.
The drag performer is now asking for $1 million in lost wages, and $2.5 million for punitive damages.
The talent management company has since released a statement to TMZ, denying all claims of embezzlement and stating that Delano's claims are “categorically inaccurate in every regard, including [Adore’s] income, expenses and PEG’s commissions".
They also state that they "would never take actions that are adverse to the careers of our artists", and they're confident that the lawsuit will be dropped.
