Fans of music duo Tegan and Sara have reason to celebrate this week, with news the siblings' 2019 memoir High School is being adapted into a TV comedy series by actor Clea DuVall.
According to Deadline, the series will be produced by Amazon Studios in association with Plan B Entertainment and is set to follow the Quin sisters as they traverse high school life as young Queer siblings.
DuVall, who starred in But I'm a Cheerleader, Girl, Interrupted, and Veep, has signed on to direct the pilot episode, and co-executive produce alongside Tegan and Sara.
The show's official synopsis reads: "Through a backdrop of ’90s grunge and rave culture, the series tangles itself in the parallel and discordant memories of two sisters growing up down the hall from one another.
"This is a story about finding your own identity - a journey made even more complicated when you have a twin whose own struggle and self-discovery so closely mimics your own."
DuVall, currently making her directorial debut on Hulu's queer-themed Christmas movie Happiest Season, tweeted about the exciting project.
"I loved @teganandsara’s beautiful memoir and am so thrilled to work with our team at @IMDbTV and Plan B to bring it to life."
