There's a hashtag going off on Twitter at the moment expressing pent-up anger at racism, in all its overt and subtle forms, under the guise of 'whiteness'.

Started by Tori Williams Douglass, an activist, research assistant and ex-evangelical Christian, #WhitenessToldMe has started a conversation about the daily microaggressions and discrimination that people of colour experience.
Twitter users from a range of backgrounds have joined the conversation to share their experiences of 'whiteness', and how it plays out when it comes to our ideas about race.
Some drew attention to the prejudice people of colour face when it comes to work and success...
...while others embraced it as a battle cry.
The tweets call out the double standards and myths perpetuated by a dominant, white culture. Follow the hashtag here.
