Unless you've been living under a rock (or leading a perfectly healthy, happy life without social media), you've probably stumbled across the infamous 'distracted boyfriend' meme.

According to Know Your Meme, the first distracted boyfriend meme originated with a photograph taken by Antonio Guillem for stock photo database iStock, which was initially captioned with: "Disloyal man with his girlfriend looking at another girl".

However, it didn't take long for tech-savvy internet users to give the photo the meme treatment, sharing various iterations on reddit and twitter, sending the image viral.

However, there's now a new version of the meme - and we're pleased to report that it is 100% gayer than the original.

"Is… is this an improved version of the ‘Distracted Boyfriend’ meme,” wrote Twitch “gaymer” @skylxrksays on Twitter earlier this week.

With over 100,000 'likes' in two days, it would seem that social media users have given the new meme their nod of approval.
Naturally, the memes were soon to follow.
