A group of four young trans men have taken to crowdfunding in the hope of producing a web series based on their journey as a boy band.

The group, who call themselves Ladyboy, is comprised of Ethan Remillard, 21, Xander Idris, 28, Rowan Seitz, 25, and Cole Hayes.

Aside from creating exposure for their forthcoming music, the men hope that their web series, titled Born Stars, will help increase transmasculine visibility in the mainstream media.

According to series creator Remillard: "Born Stars is a web-based series designed to showcase the lives of four friends and bandmates navigating music, sex and life in Los Angeles."

He continues: "Trans guys don't get a lot of exposure in the media. We’re hoping with this show to show people that we’re someone’s son or someone’s brother or someone’s grandson, boyfriend; we’re humans with dreams just like everybody else.”

Speaking on the group's campaign video, Hayes adds: "Trans visibility, especially transmasculine visibility, is very limited."
