Trans icon Amanda Lepore photoshopped out of Travis Scott's album artwork

“A girl can’t help it! I’m too distracting for the eyes. I upstaged everyone in the photograph!"

Fans of transgender model and former club kid Amanda Lepore have taken to social media to express their anger at the star being removed from the album artwork for rapper Travis Scott's Astroworld.

The image featured on the album cover was taken by photographer David LaChapelle, who shared his original photograph - featuring Lepore - on instagram.
However, when Travis Scott later shared the album cover on his own instagram account, Lepore was curiously missing.

Lepore, a seasoned model celebutante, singer, and performance artist, appeared to shrug off the omission, writing on instagram: “A girl can’t help it! I’m too distracting for the eyes. I upstaged everyone in the photograph! Oh well… I love David LaChapelle and Travis Scott. Love and kisses.”
Photographer LaChapelle explained that "Amanda was taken out because she just upstaged everyone", assuring his fans that the decision had "nothing to do with hating."

Fans of Lepore, including Drag Race alumni Sharon Needles and Aquaria, showed their support for the star.

"You can be on my album cover any night!" Tweeted Needles.
