Travel mag says Lupita Nyong'o hails from the fictional country of 'Black Panther'

An in-flight magazine recently printed that actor Lupita Nyong'o hails from Wakanda - which happens to be a fictional country in the Marvel Universe where 'Black Panther' is set.

British Airways' in-flight magazine High Life recently ran a best-dressed celebrity piece in their entertainment pages, which also listed the place that each celebrity was from. 

This list included the talented actor Lupita Nyong'o, who is known for her work in 12 Years a Slave and Star Wars.

A quick Google search will let you know that Nyong'o was actually born in Mexico, and raised in Kenya - but the travel magazine listed her hometown as 'Wakanda'. 

Now, for those cursing their vague memory of high-school geography - where exactly is Wakanda?

The answer is this: nowhere, apart from inside comic books.

Wakanda is the fictional country where Marvel's Black Panther is set - a highly-anticipated movie that Nyong'o is set to star in. The nation of Wakanda is ruled by T’Challa - Black Panther himself.

This strange mistake was photographed and obviously published to social media, and respondents let rip on the fact that not only was the error made at all, it was also made by a travel publication.

At the time of publishing, British Airways has not commented on the magazine's error.
