The trailer has finally dropped for The Miseducation of Cameron Post, the critically acclaimed film which took home the top gong at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
Chloë Grace Moretz plays the film's titular role, a teenage girl who has been sent to a gay conversion camp after being outed to her conservative aunt.
Directed by Desiree Akhaven (Appropriate Behaviour), the film is an adaptation of Emily M. Danforth’s 2012 coming-of-age novel of the the same name and is said to have been inspired by Zach Stark, who in 2005 posted a MySpace blog about being forced by his parents to attend a gay conversion camp called Refuge.
The strong public response to his blog post resulted in the camp being shutdown.
A release date hasn't been confirmed for Australia, but the film will open August 3rd in the US and August 31st in the UK.
