A fan of RuPaul's Drag Race has made the news - but not for the reason you might think.
Openly gay news anchor Reed Cowan managed educated the masses late last week when a field reporter's microphone was hijacked by a young girl, who told viewers to vote for Blair St Clair as Miss Congeniality in the upcoming Drag Race finale.
“Whatever that means,” the clearly confused NBC News 3 Live reporter responded, signalling a return to the studio.
“It’s one of the better reality competition shows on television,” Cowan explained from the news desk.
“Ask her if she is not a fan of Kameron Michaels.”
“I love Kameron Michaels,” the young girl replied.
“I love Kameron Michaels, Miz Cracker, Aquaria, Blair St. Clair. I think that’s it.”
"This is a major left turn from drag queens to sports,” Cowan continued, shifting focus onto the sports report segment of his news program.
Raised Mormon, Reed Cowan is a journalist and documentary filmmaker, having co-directed the GLAAD Media Award winning 2010 documentary 8: The Mormon Proposition. He now raises his three adopted children alongside his husband.
