Australian singer and actor Troye Sivan might reject claims that he's a gay icon, but that doesn't mean he's not becoming something of a sex symbol for his legions of young fans.
The openly gay 23-year-old from Perth recently stopped by the Buzzfeed studio to read thirsty - that is, er, lustful - tweets from fans.
The tweets, some of which Sivan couldn't finish reading, included “I want Troye Sivan’s jawline to cut me into fries,” and “I want Troye Sivan to suffocate me with a wig”.
Needless to say, the 'My My My!' singer was left a little red-faced - if not perhaps un-surprised.
Released earlier this year, Sivan's single 'Bloom' was quickly celebrated as a gay sex anthem for its evocative and homoerotic lyrics.
He has previously been open about his sexuality, speaking out about the challenges of navigating early sexual experiences, some of which can turn out to be predatory, while remaining in the closet.
“[I] started to try to meet people who were like me, but you sort of are forced a little bit into these hyper-sexualised environments, and even though that’s awesome when you’re 17… I didn’t know what else to do." Sivan said in an interview for Attitude magazine.
“I don’t remember specifically but, because I was always so small, I was so scared to meet up with people because I was like, ‘I’m going to get killed, I’m going to get murdered by someone'.”
