British pop band Years & Years are back, with openly gay vocalist Olly Alexander taking to social media to share a glimpse of the band's forthcoming album Palo Santo, and a short film that will accompany the album's release.
The band's critically acclaimed debut album Communion was released in 2015, and fans have been waiting eagerly for the follow-up ever since.
"We are OVER THE MOON to announce that Y&Y2 is coming on July 6 2018 and it's called Palo Santo and we can't wait for you to hear it!" the band wrote in a post on Instagram.
In another post on social media, Alexander opened up about the challenges that came with recording the album, saying he "cannot wait" for it to be released.
"It’s been a journey!" He wrote.
"Ups and downs and moons and Junes and Ferris wheels and fucking tearing my hair out and crying into my pillow... I put all of it into Palo Santo, I put you and him and them and me into it."
He added: "I’m just SO THANKFUL THAT THIS IS HAPPENING THERE IS A WITCHY GAY FULL MOON IN MY HEART AND ITS [sic] SHINING SHINING SHINING."
In anticipation of the release, the band also shared a sneak peak of the short film which will be accompanying Palo Santo, featuring narrations by "the powerful omnipotent Mother of Palo Santo" Dame Judi Dench.
Palo Santo comes out July 6th.
