Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill have blasted their way to the top of the Australian box office over the weekend with their tongue-in-cheek buddy cop sequel 22 Jump Street.
The comedy debuted with $6.883 million from Thursday to Sunday according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.
It held How To Train Your Dragon 2 at bay, with the animated sequel remaining in second place with $3.474 million. Meanwhile book adaptation The Fault in Our Stars fell from its reigning spot in first down to third with $1.270 million.
Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie, scared off the competition to remain steady in fourth, while Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt's sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow dropped two places to fifth.
In sixth place was Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore's family comedy Blended, down one spot from last week, while X-Men: Days of Future Past also dropped one place to seventh.
British comedy The Trip to Italy climbed two places into eighth, while new drama/thriller Two Faces of January, starring Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst debuted in no. 9.
The final place on the ladder was nabbed by Seth MacFarlane comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West, which fell three places, but clung onto the rankings in tenth.
