Jonny, Jonny Lee Miller, is introduced to the biggest gangster in London, Ray, Ray Winstone, by his childhood friend, and Ray`s nephew, Jude, Jude Law. Ray, whose idea of a good time is to sing karaoke, is distracted from his nefarious activities by his devotion for his fiance , soapie star Sadie, Sadie Frost, and he`s caught unawares when the psychotic Jonny provokes a war with a rival gang, led by Sean, Sean Pertwee, with increasingly violent results.
Very much in the wake of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Love, Honour and Obey is a jokey British gangster film which blends broad comedy with bloody violence to mixed results. The excellent actors are evidently enjoying themselves, including the film`s producers-writers-directors Dominic Anciano and Ray Burdis, who play Ray`s bodyguards. The film is filled with jokes about impotence and how to overcome it, and while much of it`s amusing there are also some mind-boggling scenes of cartoon-like violence. An odd, but only occasionally engaging, film.
