There were a number of incredible moments during the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards.

First, Broadway actress Jenifer Lewis rocked up to the red carpet with a bold tribute to US football star Colin Kaepernick.

Then Donald Glover did what he does best, which is to defy and subvert expectation. While he may not have won an award for Atlanta, he did get all of the cool kids in the room (fans of Atlanta) excited when they realised he was dressed as the memorable Atlanta character Teddy Perkins.

Winning an Emmy award for directing the Academy Awards was Glenn Weiss, who then turned his speech into a wedding proposal. The man knows how to create a memorable moment at an awards show and boy did he deliver with this one.
