A genuinely touching film about an Irish immigrant family who come to live in New York amid the most daunting conditions of near-poverty.
Paddy Considine and Samantha Morton portray the parents with commendable restraint given the possibilities for wallowing in this struggle-street saga; but the film is stolen by the sisters, Sarah and Emma Bolger, who play their kids: two remarkable child performers.
