Today, SBS and production partner Beyond Productions proudly announce that award-winning artist Delta Goodrem will represent Australia at the 70th Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna, Austria.
One of Australia’s most accomplished and globally recognised performers, Delta will take to the stage at the Wiener Stadthalle this May with her powerful new single Eclipse, bringing her signature vocals, cinematic pop sound and commanding live presence to one of the world’s biggest live music events.
Having written songs for Eurovision winner Celine Dion and worked alongside Olivia Newton-John - two artists she has long admired and whose global careers have shaped generations - Delta now takes her place on the Eurovision stage herself.
Broadcast to more than 160 million viewers worldwide, Eurovision is where artistry meets spectacle on a global scale - and SBS enters 2026 with an artist ready for that moment.
Delta Goodrem said: “I’m so honoured to represent Australia on one of the biggest and most iconic music stages in the world at Eurovision! As a singer-songwriter, music has been my lifelong passion. I’ve always loved the creativity, individuality, and joy Eurovision brings, connecting and uniting people across the globe through music; the universal language. I can’t wait to arrive in Vienna and make Australia proud.”
A Song Built for the Stage
Released today, Eclipse captures the rare, breath-stealing moment when shadow and light fall into perfect harmony — a metaphor for clarity, alignment and stepping fully into your purpose. Blending Delta’s delicate, classical piano motifs with sweeping, cinematic production, the track builds from intimate vulnerability to a soaring, anthemic crescendo. Driven by her powerhouse vocal and a dramatic dynamic arc, Eclipse delivers both emotional intimacy and arena-scale impact, culminating in a triumphant final chorus crafted to ignite audiences across the arena and around the world.
Written by Delta Goodrem, Ferras Alqaisi, Jonas Myrin and Michael Fatkin (who also produced the single) Eclipse signals a bold creative evolution and a performance built to leave a lasting impression.
The Vision
Directed by Melbourne-born, London-based filmmaker Liam Pethick (known for his work with Ed Sheeran) and produced by acclaimed creative Brian Purnell, whose collaborators include Celine Dion, Troye Sivan, Snoop Dogg and Tame Impala, the visually arresting music video for Eclipse reflects the world-class pedigree of Mushroom Creative House.
Set across vast sand dunes in Newcastle, NSW, Delta performs at the centre of a circle of mirrored plinths that fragment and multiply her image, evolving from elusive and undefined to powerful and self-assured as day shifts into night and ultimately collides in a kinetic eclipse of light and shadow. The result is a bold, cinematic piece that matches the scale of the music with striking visuals, raw ambition and elite creative firepower.
An Iconic Career
Signing her first record deal at just 15, Delta exploded onto the global stage with her debut album Innocent Eyes — a 23-times Platinum phenomenon and one of the highest-selling albums in Australian history. The album produced five #1 singles and remained at #1 for a record-breaking seven and a half months – making Delta a household name, with one in every four homes in Australia owning a Delta Goodrem album.
Across her career, Delta has sold more than nine million albums worldwide, achieved five #1 albums and nine #1 singles, and earned 12 ARIA Awards. She has collaborated and toured with global icons including Celine Dion, Olivia Newton-John, Andrea Bocelli, Tony Bennett, Shania Twain, Backstreet Boys and Ricky Martin, captivating audiences across Europe, Asia and the US.
In 2022, she launched her own label, ATLED Records, taking full creative control of her music and ushering in a new era defined by independence, ambition, and artistic conviction.
More than a decade after Australia first stepped onto the Eurovision stage, SBS continues to champion bold artistic voices in one of the world’s most competitive music arenas. Call it perfect timing – we call it divine. The planets have aligned for Delta to Eclipse with a performance that’s out of this world.
In a galaxy of stars, Australia’s bringing the Eclipse.

SBS Head of Entertainment Emily Griggs said: “After years of speculation, the moment has arrived. Everything has aligned for Delta to represent Australia at Eurovision, and there’s no better time than 2026 in the song contest’s 70th year, back where Australia’s participation began in 2015. To mark this milestone, we wanted to send one of Australia’s most iconic artists to the world’s most iconic stage. Her powerful voice is balanced by restraint and an openness that draws people in, creating performances that feel both intimate and expansive. Europe, get ready. Australia is lighting up the stage.”
Australia’s Creative Director for Vienna, Paul Clarke said: “Delta Goodrem is a once in a generation artist. Her elegant songwriting and unmatched vocal ability make her the perfect choice to represent Australia and eclipse the competition at the 70th anniversary of Eurovision in Vienna. Her song is a bold step towards the next stage of her worldwide career, and we are excited to bring her vision to life on the stage in May.”
