Pixar has done it again, Cars is a super charged classic combining a well constructed and finely tuned emotional story with state of the art computer animation. And state of the art just does not do it justices, the animation is over whelming with founder John Lassiter firmly in the drivers seat.
Applying the technique of ray tracing for the first time it is easy to suspend your disbelief and accept this parallel world in which cars are humanized.
The extra chrome on the grill is added by the all star cast lead by Owen Wilson's sensitive voicing of Lightning McQueen to Hollywood veteran Paul Newman's wise old Doc Hudson.
Cars is a real winner in which the past and future come together in a homage to the great American road trip.
