‘[Aubrey] Plaza isn't the most gung-ho of performers -- both on-screen and behind-the-scenes, she seems to maintain a pretty low-key vibe. But with the right amount of confidence infused with that, she'd help keep a lady-led "Ghostbusters" firmly in the comedy camp. Frankly, if there's anyone on this list who can sell the line "Back off, man, I'm a scientist," it's Plaza. You might not believe that she's actually a scientist -- but then again, did you really believe that of Bill Murray?’

‘The surest way to make an honest romantic comedy? Don’t rely on men to make it, the way endless studio efforts have. “It’s notable that both ‘Obvious Child’ and ‘Laggies’ are female-written, female-directed films about female stories that star females,” Mr. Fenkel said, adding, “Duh.”’

‘Music biopics are arguably trickier than the standard biopic, because how do you convey once-in-a-lifetime musical genius without an actual once-in-a-lifetime musical genius? It’s one thing to have Daniel Day-Lewis pretend to be Lincoln and Method act the Gettysburg Address. Believing anyone other than the real Jimi Hendrix can play the guitar like Jimi Hendrix is a different story.’

‘The Double Life Of Veronique isn’t a didactic film, mostly—it swims in a sea of dreamy, intensely colored images and emotion-driven associations, and lets viewers draw their own conclusions.’

‘The forthcoming film will focus on Brent’s life as he goes on tour 15 years after being made redundant from the Slough paper merchant Wernham Hogg. “He thinks it’ll be like Scorsese doing the Rolling Stones, but we’ll show the full horror. He’s had to take two weeks off work and cash in his pension, because the session musicians in the band are costing him more than he’s getting in ticket sales,” said Gervais.’
