It’s been a hectic schedule for our Dami since she arrived in the Swedish capital. From red carpet events, to press calls, to dress rehearsal after dress rehearsal, our tireless trooper has so far successfully navigated the many challenges of the Eurovision Song Contest fortnight.
But remember, this is the 'Hunger Games' of singing contests and all the pressure of the event can get on top of any seasoned performer.
So, when the opportunity arose for Dami to take time out of her chaotic schedule to participate in a traditional Swedish fika the unscheduled stop proved just the medicine for our Aussie Diva.
What’s a fika?
A fika is similar to the gold old Aussie “coffee break” or “afternoon tea” but moreover it’s a time to spend with family, friends, loved ones and even new acquaintances over strong coffee and delicious pastries or sandwiches. Colloquially, fika has also come to represent the Swedes need for a break during the day. It’s an institution here in Sweden and what better way to indulge in a little time to replenish and refuel than with a fresh cinnamon bun and fragrant freshly brewed coffee. The Swedes know how to do things right!
