Indigenous elder Daniella, 52, has raised six children of her own and was only able to work sporadically while raising them. “I’m a member of the stolen generation, so I was taken and all of my older siblings were taken,” she says.

The rate of unemployment for Indigenous Australians is 3.6 times higher than the rate for non-Indigenous, but Daniella also has the compounding factor of being over the age of 50. She has come up with the idea of an all-natural, culturally inspired remedy for teething.

“Being Aboriginal we’re not really taken seriously because of the past so I just want to show people that they can actually do it,” she says. “That would be bloody awesome.”

Where is she now?

After her experiences as one of the final 12 participants of The Employables, Daniella is currently connecting with mentor Michelle Duval for advice around taking her natural teething remedy to market.
