How to become a vampire in three easy lessons - rob a crypt, supposedly holding valuable antiquities in London, become convinced that the coffin in the inner sanctum that`s hard to open is hiding all the goodies and 3, lug it off to America...... This band of bandits joins themile high vampire club but the owner of the coffin, Abraham van Helsing - Christopher Plummer - follows because he has good reason to know how dangerous their cargo is. He`salso worried that the newly arisen Dracula - Gerard Butler - is heading for his daughter Mary - Justine Waddell - who`s working in New Orleans in a Virgin music store - puhleese! And if all that isn`t enough van Helsing`s loyal assistant Simon - Johnny Lee Miller - follows him. It`s a pity that Dracula looks like a male model for Aramis, he`s a far cry from Klaus Kinski or even Gary Oldman. All the cliched paraphenalia - crosses, bibles, wooden stakes, silver bullets fail to engender much animation in the walking dead, with the treatment it gets here. Everything isunconvincing, performances are limited by the uninspired screenplay by Joel Soisson who dreamed up this nonsense with the director Patrick Lussier. Lussier comes from a background of editing, he`d worked on all of Wes Craven`s films since Wes Craven`s New Nightmare and Craven was one of the executive producers on this. Enough about Dracula 2000, it didn`t work for me.
