We’re not the only one’s excited about Dami Im representing Australia at this year’s Eurovision. A few of the contestants have sent through videos, giving Dami Im a personal shout out from around Europe.
The messages have come as a response to Dami Im’s own video message. As is tradition for all artists, Dami Im recorded a video introducing herself to Eurovision fans worldwide in March. In the clip she exclaims her excitement toward being involved and describes a bit about herself.
Now Eurovision contestants have sent videos with a message to Dami Im. They're sending their own bit of love to Australian audiences too while asking for our vote. Because remember we can’t vote for our own country (here’s instructions on how to vote for your favourite performer). Maybe one of these video messages will win you over before the competition even begins.
UK lads, Joe and Jake have sent a silent written message for our Aussie contestant, saying they love her Sound of Silence song and can’t wait to see her at Eurovision.
Switzerland’s Rykka sent in a very cute video, telling Australia how much she loves Dami Im, how much she appreciates our country’s support and asks us to give her our vote if we love her song, The Last of Our Kind.
Germany’s performer, Jamie-Lee sends her love to Dami Im and introduces herself to the Australian audience as a major fan of Japanese street culture, and like Dami, of Asian culture. Maybe the two of them could bond over all things J-Pop and K-Pop?
Her hat is probably the greatest head piece ever. We hope that’s a good sign of what’s to come costume-wise.
Ukraine’s Jamala has sent through a very cute video asking for Australian’s to vote for her song, 1944. Her cat-eyed eyeliner is on point too, we vote for best eye make-up in a video message.
Belgium performer Laura Tesoro sent a cheerful message to Australians asking for our vote for her “funky pop song,” What’s the Pressure.
Michal Szpak will be representing Poland in Eurovision this year and he’s asking for Australia’s vote for his song, Colour of Your Life. Szpak also says he wishes he could be partying with us in Australia and signs off by saying he’ll see us in Stockholm. We just love his hair.
France's adorable Amir showed out Dami some big love recently too. He's a big fan of our very own Dami Im and her killer tune 'Sound of Silence,' and in a recent Periscope session with Aussie fans from the Twitter Blue Room, he belted out this incredible cover of her song:
We obviously all want Dami Im to take the Eurovision 2016 crown. But because we can’t vote for our own country in the official international voting rules, we’ll have to start thinking about who is going to get our vote. Has anyone won you over yet?
