“Coming soon on the 3D screens”, according to the '...what the hell just happened?!' trailer, Ukrainian cinema delves into the cheese-soaked world of Missing Link terror with Alexandr and Vyacheslav Aleshechkin's 2012 furry fondue, Synevir (pictured). A group of young ne'er-do'wells (of course) stumble into the woods (where else?) on the night of a full moon, only to find the titular legend does not appreciate the intrusion. True, the legend of the animalistic forest dweller holds strong significance in Europe, but you would ecpect a little more respect could be paid the hirsute stalker of the night than this malarkey. The film derives its title from a lakes region in the Carpathian mountains where humans dare not venture... much like any cinema auditorium screening this film.
