Head Over Heels Review

When New York art restorer Amanda Pierce, Monica Potter, discovers her live-in boyfriend is cheating on her, she has to find herself a new apartment. She moves into a spacious abode inhabited by four super models and is soon smitten by Jim Winston, Freddie Prinze Jr., who lives across the way - that is until she sees him murder a young woman - or does she? This romantic comedy-thriller borrows heavily from both Rear Window and How To Marry A Millionaire -Australian model Sarah O`Hare even tackles a Marilyn Monroe imitation but it remains pretty slight and superficial entertainment. I find Freddie Prinze Jr., at this stage of his career, a rather bland leading man, and he`s not the most convincing FBI agent; a scene in which the girls are forced to listen to him on the toilet hits a new low for this kind of so-called comedy. The thriller aspects of the plot are perfunctory, but the women are good, with O`Hare, Shalom Harlow, Ivana Milicevic and Tomiko Fraser all turning in amusing performances.
