Every country competing in Eurovision is able to vote for performers in the competition. While an Australian jury has been selected, their votes only make up 50% of the overall Australian vote. The rest of our vote comes from you, Eurovision viewers.

When to vote

In each Semi-Final, 10 contestants are chosen to qualify for the Grand Final. As per the official Eurovision rules, viewers in all countries taking part in a particular Semi-Final are invited to vote via SMS.

Australian viewers are eligible to vote in Semi Final 1 (in which Australia’s Kate Miller-Heidke will perform) as well as The Grand Final. The voting window for Semi Final 1 and the Grand Final opens after the last song has been performed, and ends 15 minutes later.

For Australian viewers, this means they will need to tune into the LIVE broadcasts of Semi Final 1 Wednesday 15 May, 5am (AEST) and the Grand Final Sunday 19 May, 5am (AEST) and text the numbers that appear on screen during these live broadcasts (on SBS and at SBS on Demand)

How to vote

It's really easy. You can vote by calling or texting the number of the act performing.

Text - 1991 3773

Call - 1902 55 81

Note: Fixed call & SMS charge $0.55 incl GST. Higher rates apply to calls from mobile phones. Information on data protection can be found here

Fans can vote multiple times - up to 20 times from the one phone.

Who to vote for

Jury members and public voters can’t vote for their own country, so you can vote for anyone / everyone - except Kate Miller-Heidke. There there are plenty of other outstanding acts alongside our Australian hopeful. No one else is going to be singing opera on top of a bendy pole, mind you, but let's not hold that against them.
