Former US Vice President Al Gore and the producers of Oscar-winning environmental film An Inconvenient Truth are plotting a sequel to the 2006 documentary.
The movie, which raised awareness of climate change, made $US50 million ($A54.22 million) at the global box office, and producer Lawrence Bender tells The Hollywood Reporter there are plans to revisit the project, which featured Gore as a narrator.
"We have had conversations. We've met; we've discussed," he says.
Bender insists there is a pressing need to spread the climate change message, adding: "Some people actually believe global warming doesn't exist."
