He certainly knows his way around the martial arts scene but can Jackie Chan dance? The Hong Kong action hero will be put to the test as he shakes his hips to a Bollywood number in his upcoming film, Kung Fu Yoga.

To ensure he doesn’t step on anyone’s feet, 61-year-old Chan and has enlisted the help of prominent Indian choreographer and producer Farah Khan, and the results are so far promising. After spending time on set together this week, Khan was quick to announce on Twitter: “The King of action CAN dance n how!! Changing his name 2 Jackie Jackson!!”

Chan dresses in a red and brown sherwani and matching salwar pants for the dance scene and is joined by co-stars Amyra Dastur and Sonu Sood – the latter of whom is said to have convinced him to include the song in the first place.

The trio - and a host of backup performers - are shooting in the city of Jodhpur, in Rajasthan, where Dastur has taken the opportunity to take the Hollywood star around town.

She told the Hindustan Times, “He is fond of the country. Of course, he is boiling in the heat here… We shot in City Palace, I showed him around the place. He can’t step out too much because he is such a big star”.

Action and adventure film Kung Fu Yoga is a multi-lingual, Chinese-Indian production slated for release in late 2016 or early 2017. Along with Chan, Dastur and Sood, it will also feature Indian actress Disha Patani and Hong Kong born star Aarif Rahman, and is being shot in locations across China, India, Iceland and Dubai.
