Kingdom's Michod crowned best director

Animal Kingdom's debut director has won the ADG's 2010 top gong.

Director David Michôd (pictured, right) has takeb out the Australian Directors Guild's top prize in its annual awards, held in Sydney last night.

The former Inside Film magazine editor walked away with the coveted award for Best Direction in a Feature Film for his stellar work on Animal Kingdom, as well winning Best Direction in a Documentary (Stand Alone) for Solo, alongside Jen Peedom.

Gillian Armstrong was awarded with Best Direction in a Documentary for Love, Lust & Lies, the fifth instalment of her documentary series on three Adelaide girls, which started all the way back in 1976 with Smoke and Lollies.
