Latvia: Aminata

SEMI FINAL 2: Aminata from Latvia will perform 'Love Injected' at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest held in Vienna, Austria.

Eurovision
This is one of the best entries Latvia has sent to the contest in a long, long time. Aminata, a native Latvian of African-Russian heritage, offers the contest 'Love Injected' a stylishly slick electronically infused R&B track. This hypnotising entry echoes Swedish R&B queen Beldina and is a less frenetic version of Norwegian Margaret Berger’s 2013 entry 'I Feed You My Love'. Stark and powerful, assured and mesmerising, this great effort will be rewarded with a ticket into the Grand Final.

3 Questions with Aminata

What are three interesting aspects about your entry?

Aminata composes her own music and sings it. She plays the flute and always wanted to become a singer, and only a singer.

Do you have a (lucky) routine before you go on stage?

Before going on the stage Aminata likes to concentrate and doesn't usually speak with anybody. She likes to listen to music, which makes her get on the needed wave. She usually hides in some empty dark corner, so nobody can disturb her. But after the performance she is very friendly and talkative.

Why is the Eurovision Song Contest important for you?

I think that every singer dreams to perform on the big stage like it is in the Eurovision. The thought that so many people will listen to my song at the same moment is very exciting, I dream to feel and to enjoy this moment. And of course it is great experience for a young artist like me.
