A steamy love triangle plays out in Bahia’s red light district as Karinna the beautiful pole dancer/prostitute (Alice Braga) inspires an obsessive, jealous rivalry within two besotted friends, Deco (Lazaro Ramos) and Naldinho (Wagner Moura). Naldinho’s vow that "No woman will come between us," is tested when Karinna boards their boat and offers favours in exchange for transport, cash and company. All three give gutsy, intuitive performances. This sexy, passionate film is co-produced by Walter Salles and directed by Salles’ former assistant director, Sergio Machado.
