Myf Warhurst is a self-confessed light packer. But her new gig hosting Australia’s broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine next month could see all that change.
“I refuse to take lots of luggage when I go overseas,” she tells SBS.
“But I think with Eurovision, when I think of all my costumes,” she takes a moment to sigh, “my outfits are going to be pretty extraordinary, so I might have to pack for real this time.”
Ukraine only allows each passenger to carry one 23-kilogram piece of luggage. And if Myf’s past forays in fancy-dress are any indication, fitting all her Eurovision gear in one suitcase could pose a challenge.
That's just Myf at a Christmas party, above.
When asked whether there was one item she always packed whenever she travelled, she had this to say:
“I lived in London for a couple of years and I actually was so surprised by how much I did miss Vegemite. I missed it. And I didn’t think I would.
“I was so surprised because in the UK they have Marmite which is kind of like the same thing. But it’s not. IT. IS. NOT.”
Hopefully, Myf won’t have too much trouble getting a jar of the good stuff through customs!
The Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast over SBS’s Eurovision weekend - Friday 12 May, Saturday 13 May, and Grand Final Sunday 14 May at 7.30pm on SBS with LIVE early morning broadcasts begin Wednesday 10 May at 5am on SBS.
