For the actors who have played The Joker, it has been a role that their careers are defined by. Jack Nicholson was already a legend of American cinema before playing The Crown Prince of Crime, but he'll forever be remembered for his role in the 1989 Batman movie. Similarly, Caesar Romero, already a huge star, will forever be remembered for playing The Joker in the 1966 Batman TV series. Heath Ledger was just at the start of a very promising career when he passed away just after filming his wild turn as The Joker in The Dark Knight.
Will the same be said of Tommy Wiseau?
With a new film set to feature The Joker in the lead role on the horizon, produced by Martin Scorsese, the time was right for Wiseau to record his own audition video.
Wiseau came to prominence as the star and writer/director of The Room, a movie said to be the worst film of all time. Based on the raw talent showcased in his audition video, it is clear that Wiseau may be able to redefine his own career as the greatest actor to play The Joker yet.
