Pure chaos. Dark comedy. Deadly family secrets. Get ready for four-part series Reckless, a bold new First Nations drama set in Fremantle.

The brand-new series, starring Tasma Walton (The Twelve, Mystery Road) and AACTA Award winner Hunter Page-Lochard (The Newsreader, Critical Incident), premieres on SBS, NITV, and SBS On Demand on Wednesday, November 12, at 8:30 pm.

When feuding siblings June (Tasma Walton) and Charlie (Hunter Page-Lochard) cover up a deadly hit-and-run in their hometown of Fremantle, their lives spiral wildly out of control. As the lies pile up, so do the consequences and soon, everyone in town has something to lose.

Fast and fearless, Reckless, written by Kodie Bedford (Mystery Road, Return to Paradise) and Stuart Page (Total Control, Cleverman) is a uniquely Australian take on crime and chaos where small-town secrets, family feuds and guilt make for explosive TV.

Bold, brave and deadly funny, Reckless is a wild ride through guilt, loyalty and bad decisions - a thriller with a distinctly Aussie sense of humour, where no one’s innocent, everyone’s got an angle, and every laugh hides a secret.

This is crime drama done differently: unpredictable, unapologetic and full of heart.

Reckless is adapted by Kodie Bedford, who also serves as Executive Producer of this audacious First Nations drama. She was born and raised in the Midwest of Western Australia with strong family ties to the East Kimberley region.

Reckless is shot entirely on location in Fremantle and Perth, with the series capturing the grit, humour and heart of Bedford’s home.

Fremantle isn’t just the backdrop - it’s a character in itself. Its tight-knit streets, local pubs and ocean views hold both the beauty and menace of a town that never forgets. The result is a story that feels lived-in, layered, vividly Australian and unapologetically Fremantle.

June and Charlie’s dysfunctional love-hate sibling relationship drives the chaos - she’s the one seemingly keeping it together, he’s the one unwittingly tearing it apart. Together, they’re a ticking time bomb. Their decisions pull everyone around them into a spiral of guilt, laughter and danger.

An outstanding Australian cast joins Tasma and Hunter, including Jessica De Gouw (The Couple Next Door, The Survivors), Clarence Ryan (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Territory, Mystery Road: Origin), Jane Harber (Offspring, Limbo) and Tracy Mann (The Twelve, Top End Bub) as well as Duncan Fellows (Deadloch, The Letdown), Perry Mooney (Population:11, Gold Diggers), Kelton Pell (Mystery Road: Origin, Redfern Now), Matthew Dyktynski (Japanese Story, Offspring), Paul Tassone (The Twelve, Pokerface), Peter Rowsthorn (Kath and Kim, Three Summers), Steve Le Marquand (The Twelve, Mystery Road: Origin), and newcomer Maddie Young.

Directed by Beck Cole (Deadloch, High Country, Wentworth), Reckless is produced by Andy Walker (Deadloch, The Survivors) and Executive Produced by Kylie Washington (Ghosts Australia, The Office) and Kodie Bedford, with co-Executive Producers Megan Palinkas (Heartbreak High, The Heights) and Beck Cole, and Fiona McConaghy (Bay of Fires S2, NCIS Sydney) serving as co-producer.
