CATCH-UP: Watch it now

Director: Stuart Gordon

What's it about?
Adapted from H.P. Lovecraft’s 1922 pulp horror story, Re-Animator follows Herbert West, a brilliant but deranged scientist conducting clandestine experiments within the morgue at Miskatonic University. One day, he reveals to a fellow student his groundbreaking work on the re-animation of fresh corpses. However, his obsession soon sends him further into madness. With a good dose of black humour, plenty of gore and a chilling performance by Jeffrey Combs, Re-Animator "will scare you to pieces".

Blood Glacier

Wednesday May 20, 10.30pm
(Austria, horror)

Director: Marvin Kren
Starring: Gerhard Liebmann, Edita Malovcic, Santos
What's it about?
Often compared to Carpenter's The Thing, Blood Glacier tells the story of a team of scientists, led by gruff researcher Janek, who are posted in the Austrian Alps to research global warming. One day, while walking their dog, they make a strange discovery: a blood-like liquid pouring from a nearby glacier, which causes horrifying mutations in the local wildlife. Soon the team have to defend themselves and the station against a growing horde of biological monsters. (Pet lovers beware of a particularly heartbreaking scene involving the dog.)

Wednesday May 27, 8.30pm
CATCH-UP: Watch it now

(USA, comedy/horror)

Director: Sam Raimi
Starring: Bruce Campbell, Sarah Berry, Dan Hicks
What's it about?
The pitch-perfect gory slapstick made Sam Raimi's Evil Dead franchise a must-see of the horror comedy genre. In this second part, our hero Ash Williams is the sole survivor of an onslaught of flesh-possessing spirits, who infected his girlfriend Linda and forced him to decapitate her. But she comes back from the dead, albeit disjointed, and is determined to get a piece of him.
