(USA/Australia, horror/mystery, 2004)
MA15+
Director: James Wan
Starring: Cary Elwes, Leigh Whannell, Danny Glover
What's it about?
This cult gore movie almost never came to fruition, as it wasn't until Melbourne-based Leigh Whannell and James Wan turned to America to pitch their script, that it became the successful franchise that we know. The plot is terrifying in its simplicity: with a dead body lying between them, two men wake up in the secure lair of a serial killer who's been nicknamed 'Jigsaw'. The men must play a series of gut-wrenching games in order to stand a chance of surviving.
